Trade Flow Analyst (Commodities)

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze vessel movements, cargo flows, and shipping activities using AIS, satellite data, and market intelligence sources.
• Track cargo origins, destinations, volumes, and estimated arrival timings to provide actionable market insights.
• Identify unusual vessel behavior, route deviations, delays, diversions, congestion, and other events that may impact trade flows.
• Collaborate with commercial, operations, and analytical teams to validate information and support decision-making.
• Develop and maintain vessel tracking reports, dashboards, and market intelligence updates.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, improve data quality, and enhance visibility of commodity flows.
• Support the automation and digitalization of ship-tracking processes through coding and process improvements.
• Assist in developing tools and workflows to improve operational efficiency and reporting capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies, Business, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience within the maritime, shipping, commodity trading, logistics, or energy sectors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
• Working knowledge of Python programming.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage large datasets and derive meaningful insights.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
