Trade Operations Specialist (Dry Bulk)

Key Responsibilities

• Execute and monitor physical bulk commodity trades from contract to final settlement.
• Review and administer sales and purchase contracts to ensure contractual compliance.
• Coordinate with traders, customers, suppliers, shipowners, brokers, agents, terminals and surveyors throughout the shipment process.
• Prepare and manage shipping and trade documentation, including Bills of Lading, invoices, certificates and Letter of Credit documents.
• Monitor vessel schedules, cargo movements and resolve operational issues promptly.
• Liaise with finance on invoicing, trade finance documentation and payment collections.
• Support laytime, demurrage and claims management where applicable.
• Maintain accurate trade records and ensure compliance with internal procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies, Business, Supply Chain or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in trade operations, shipping operations or commodity trading.
• Experience handling physical bulk commodities will be an advantage.
• Good knowledge of international trade documentation, Incoterms and Letters of Credit (UCP 600).
• Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
