Trainee Ship Broker

Simpson Spence Young (SSY), one of the world's leading independent shipbroking companies, is looking for motivated and ambitious Trainee Ship Broker to join our Singapore team.

This is an excellent opportunity for fresh graduates or individuals with a keen interest in shipping to receive hands-on training and mentorship from experienced shipbrokers while gaining exposure to the fast-paced world of international vessel sale and purchase transactions.

What You'll Do

As a Trainee Ship Broker, you will work closely with our experienced brokers and be involved in a variety of activities, including:

• Negotiate and conclude shipping deals, ensuring successful vessel fixtures.
• Prepare comprehensive recaps following the completion of each deal.
• Expand the client portfolio while nurturing strong relationships with existing customers.
• Deliver market insights and research updates to support client decision-making.
• Update internal systems with vessel databases and market positions.
• Build relationships with shipowners, charterers and industry counterparties across the globe.
• Learn market trends and develop a strong understanding of the international shipping market.
