Vessel Manager (Container)

Responsibilities:

• Promote a safety-focused culture onboard and onshore.
• Actively investigate incidents and pursue ongoing improvement.
• Encourage a culture of change management.
• Aim for operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with international regulations and standards.
• Manage onboard team members.
• Provide comprehensive briefings on policies and procedures.
• Evaluate senior officers’ performance.
• Provide training and mentoring in line with industry standards.
• Take care of crew well-being.
• Coordinate ship repairs with engineers and contractors.
• Evaluate maintenance tenders and ensure standards are met.
• Monitor and address ship defects.
• Conduct risk analysis for breakdowns and damages.
• Track operational costs and report on budget performance.
• Provide regular reports on key performance indicators and targets.
• Plan resources to support vessel operations.

Requirements:

• Experience as Chief Engineer onboard Ocean-going vessels / Class 1 COC Master Mariner with prior sailing as Master
• Digital fluency skills – IT knowledge of Microsoft tools (excel, word, power point).
• Good communication skills – written and spoken.
• Knowledge of Planned Maintenance Systems, knowledge of technical, procurement & logistics processes
• Growth and learning attitude.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
