Key Responsibilities
• Attend to mobile on-site service calls for vehicle defects, breakdown support and operational issues.
• Carry out first-line troubleshooting and minor rectification where safe and practical, including battery, lighting, fuses, relays, fluid top-up, wipers, loose fittings and basic electrical checks.
• Perform basic diagnostic checks, record fault codes and provide clear initial findings to the Team Lead/ Project Manager.
• Operate and manage the assigned service van, including basic tools, consumables, PPE and commonly required spare parts.
• Respond to after-hours standby calls when rostered, including remote troubleshooting, on-site attendance and coordination of towing or workshop support where required.
• Coordinate with servicing partner, workshop, vendor or towing provider for defects that cannot be resolved on-site.
• Log each reported case with vehicle number, issue description, action taken, status, parts required and closure update.
• Follow up on pending defects, repeated defects, parts delays and workshop repair status until closure.
• Ensure vehicle is not released as serviceable if the defect may affect road safety operational reliability.
• Maintain professional communication with users, Government representatives, internal team members and external support partners.
Standby / Call Response Arrangement
• 5.5 days working hours: Monday to Saturday, 8:30am to 5:30pm, subject to company deployment requirements.
• After normal working hours, the rostered standby technician will be contactable for urgent vehicle-related calls.
• The rostered standby technician may be required to take the service van home for after-hours response.
• Standby coverage may include weekday evenings, weekends and public holidays depending on the approved roster.
• Actual call-out, remote support, on-site attendance and escalation shall be recorded for operational tracking and management review.
Requirements
• N Level / O Level / NITEC /Higher NITEC in Automotive, Mechanical, Electrical or relevant technical discipline preferred.
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of hands-on automotive, commercial vehicle, fleet maintenance or mobile service experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, battery systems, lighting, fuses, relays and general mechanical checks.
• Able to perform first-line troubleshooting independently and identify when escalation is required.
• Valid Class 3 driving licence is required; Class 4 licence will be advantageous.
• Able to drive a service van and attend to vehicles at different locations in Singapore.
• Willing to support after-hours standby and call-out duties according to roster. Must be in Singapore when on roster.
• Able to converse and write in English for job updates, defect records and user communication.
• Physically fit and able to handle tools, parts, minor vehicle checks and outdoor attendance.
• Positive team player with good discipline, ownership and ability to work independently
