Job Description - MRO Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and technically competent MRO Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, overhaul, servicing, and operational readiness of drones and related systems within the company. The role is responsible for ensuring all drone assets, equipment, tools, and maintenance activities are properly managed in accordance with operational, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge in aerospace, UAV/drone systems, or electronics maintenance, with experience managing maintenance operations, troubleshooting processes, and technical teams in a manufacturing or aviation-related environment.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repair Operations

  • Oversee maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and overhaul activities for drones, UAV systems, payloads, batteries, ground control systems, and related equipment.
  • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure operational reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Review and manage technical fault reports, maintenance logs, repair documentation, and service records.
  • Ensure proper diagnosis and resolution of electrical, mechanical, software, and hardware-related issues.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules, servicing timelines, and resource allocation to support operational and customer requirements.

Technical & Operational Management

  • Supervise and support MRO technicians, engineers, and maintenance personnel in day-to-day operations.
  • Establish maintenance SOPs, technical procedures, inspection checklists, and repair standards.
  • Ensure calibration, maintenance, and proper usage of maintenance tools, testing equipment, and workshop assets.
  • Coordinate with engineering, production, QA, and operations teams to resolve technical and reliability issues.
  • Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and maintenance efficiency.

Inventory & Spare Parts Management

  • Manage inventory of spare parts, consumables, repair components, tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Coordinate procurement and replenishment of critical spare parts to maintain operational readiness.
  • Monitor stock levels, usage trends, and lead times to reduce maintenance delays.
  • Ensure proper storage, traceability, and documentation of maintenance-related inventory.

Safety, Compliance & Quality

  • Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with company safety standards, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture within the workshop and operational environment.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of batteries, electronic components, hazardous materials, and sensitive equipment.
  • Maintain maintenance records and documentation for audit, traceability, and quality assurance purposes.
  • Support compliance with aviation, aerospace, cybersecurity, and operational standards where applicable.

Customer & Service Support

  • Coordinate repair turnaround timelines and maintenance support for internal and external customers.
  • Provide technical support and maintenance recommendations to clients and operational teams where required.
  • Assist in preparing service reports, maintenance documentation, and technical findings.

Mandatory Requirements

Educational Background

  • Diploma or Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Aviation Maintenance, or related field.

Mandatory Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in maintenance, repair, overhaul, or technical service operations within aerospace, aviation, drones/UAVs, robotics, electronics, or related industries.
  • Experience managing technical maintenance teams and maintenance workflows.
  • Strong troubleshooting experience involving electrical, electronic, mechanical, or integrated systems.
  • Experience maintaining technical documentation, maintenance records, and repair procedures.
  • Familiarity with workshop operations, maintenance planning, and spare parts management.
