Waterproofing Technician – Job Duties (Construction Trade)

• Apply waterproofing systems and materials to roofs, basements, foundations, balconies, wet areas, tunnels, and other structures.
• Prepare surfaces for waterproofing applications by cleaning, grinding, repairing cracks, and removing debris or contaminants.
• Install waterproofing membranes, coatings, sealants, injection systems, and protective layers according to project specifications.
• Inspect structures to identify water leakage, moisture intrusion, and waterproofing defects.
• Perform repairs and maintenance of existing waterproofing systems.
• Conduct water ponding tests, leak detection tests, and quality inspections to verify waterproofing performance.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Operate and maintain waterproofing equipment, tools, and application machinery.
• Ensure waterproofing works comply with project requirements, manufacturer recommendations, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with site supervisors, engineers, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure proper work sequencing.
• Monitor material usage and maintain records of completed work, inspections, and testing activities.
• Follow workplace safety procedures, including the proper handling of chemicals, sealants, adhesives, and protective equipment.
• Report defects, site issues, and non-conformance matters to supervisors for corrective action.
• Assist in site inspections, progress monitoring, and project handovers.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and keep work areas clean and safe.
