Assistant Mechanical Engineer

·           Perform all maintenance work in compliance to ISO9001/14001 system, SS651 and environmental management system

·           Collect data for FMEA on failed or damaged equipment, evaluate and recommend solution

·           Generate report and make technical decision on maintenance works

·           Identify, source, liaise, evaluate, recommended tag definition for mechanical and process equipment spare and critical spare listing

·           Keep maintenance records for all the mechanical equipment

·           Provide resources for general plant maintenance such as landscaping, civil & structural works, general cleanliness, air conditioning system, etc.

·           Response to all emergency call-up services

·           Ensure housekeeping is maintained of high standards

·           Supervise staffs and contractors’ work in compliance to ISO, ESH and EMS system when performing maintenance work

·           Provide training and coaching of in-house mechanical technicians, welders, senior fitters and fitters in office, plant and vehicle maintenance

·           Supervise maintenance activities for plant turnarounds, routine monitoring and inspection activities, equipment troubleshooting, as well as equipment failure root cause analysis

·           Prepare staffs and contractors’ overtime records and submit to Mechanical Engineer

·           Establish mechanical predictive and preventive maintenance programme for mechanical and process related equipment

·           Monitor preventive maintenance program timeline and issue work order

·           Collect and analyze maintenance record data and track logic predictive indicators

·           Liaise with contractors for preventive maintenance contract services

·           Ensure the work activity of mechanical technicians, welders, senior fitters and fitters incompliance WSH act

·           Conduct daily toolbox meeting and raise PTW system to assistant EHS officer

·           Actively participate in monthly WSH Committee Meeting as a WSH Committee Member

·           Inform process engineer/ Assistant EHS officer when notice potential hazards and provide constructive suggestions

·           Participate in preparing risk assessment for related maintenance activities

·           Participate in incident investigations

·           Participate in emergency drills as per ERP plan

·           Short/ long term projects include customer engineering project, feasibility study, implementation, productivity and process / non-process safety improvement project and cost saving project

·           Assist in tracking of mechanical maintenance expenditure for projects

·           Plan and provide Project Gantt Chart, engineering flow diagram and schedule

·           Assist process engineer for required technical matters to produce relevant drawings such as fabrication of mechanical equipment, piping, modifications etc.

·           Any other duties that may be assigned by process engineer or management from time to time.
