Assistant Mechanical Engineer/ Assistant Packaging Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete packaging development process, including drawing, design creation, prototype development, and performance testing.

• Prepare technical specifications, inspection and test requirements, material requisitions, and packaging documentation, ensuring conformance to all codes.

• Collaborate with the project team and vendors to ensure that packaging designs meet manufacturability and customer requirements.

• Troubleshoot new and existing packaging problems (designs, materials, and processes) and provide creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions.

• Test packaging systems and components for new and existing products.

• Evaluate and select packaging suppliers/vendors, periodically conducting vendor reviews.

• Manage multiple packaging projects simultaneously and identify opportunities for cost saving initiatives in packaging materials, transportation, and storage.

• Stay up to date with industry trends and regulations, incorporating best practices into packaging solutions.

• Provide technical support and training to production staff to ensure the proper implementation of packaging processes.

• Continuously seek opportunities to improve and optimize packaging systems.
  

Requirements:

• Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field

• 0- 3 years of experience as an Assistant Packaging Engineer or in a similar role within the manufacturing industry

• Fresh graduates are welcome

• Proficient in packaging design software, such as AutoCAD 3D, Solid Works, Solid Edge or CAD software to produce accurate and detailed technical drawings.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams

• Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices
