Junior Purchasing Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Source and purchase raw materials, packaging materials, and indirect supplies.

• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.

• Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders in the ERP system.

• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Production Planning to ensure material availability.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.

• Source alternative suppliers to mitigate supply risks.

• Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues.

• Work with QA to ensure purchased materials meet quality and food safety requirements.

• Track market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and procurement procedures.

• Prepare procurement reports, price comparisons, and purchasing analysis.

• Support audits by maintaining accurate purchasing records and documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

• 3 - 5 years of purchasing experience in food, flavour, fragrance, ingredients, FMCG, or manufacturing.

• Experience purchasing raw materials and packaging materials in a manufacturing environment.

• ERP experience (SAP preferred).

Skills

• Strong negotiation and communication skills.

• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Knowledge of procurement processes and inventory management.

• Familiarity with food safety standards such as GMP, HACCP, or FSSC 22000.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
