Machinist

Job Summary

You will operate CNC machines to produce precision parts, perform inspections, maintain equipment, and ensure machining processes meet quality and efficiency standards.

Job Responsibilities

- Perform part machining to meet drawing requirement using machine tool such as CNC lathe, milling machine or grinding machine.

- Perform dimensional measurement and visual inspection of the part produced ensuring conformity to specification, using metrology equipment such as micrometer, height gauge, vernier caliper, bore gauge, etc.

- Perform part setup in the machine comprising of aligning and secure holding fixture, preparation of cutting tool, retrieving CNC program, securing the part for machining and qualifying the part for production.

- Monitor machining parameter, example feed, speed, cutter tool life during the machining processes and provide suggestion for cycle time reduction.

- Pay attention to abnormality of machine behavior during machining and report to department supervisor for remedial action.

- Perform basic maintenance of machine tool, example, refilling of spindle oil, slide-way lubricating oil, metal chips removal inside the machine and tool magazine.

- Perform regular cleaning of machine, equipment and the workplace. Maintain high level of house-keeping.

Requirement:     

- Minimum ITE/ Nitec in Precision Engineering or with at least 2 years hand-on machining experience.

- Able to work on rotating shifts.

- Knowledge of Fanuc, Mazatrol and Heidenhain programming language is an added advantage.
