Maintenance Manager (Chemical Plant Jurong Island)

About our client: Our client is a leading global specialty chemicals manufacturer.

*Please note that this role will be based in Jurong Island (live plant environment).

About the role:

• Management of annual/specific Project and Maintenance activities/budgets (both Mechanical and E&I) throughout the fiscal year to achieve department goals.
• Ensuring that the relevant maintenance strategies, as well as industry best practices, are applied to the activities for maintenance and modifications in the plant to achieve reliability and availability of plant equipment of the highest level.
• Ensures all plant and equipment is maintained to the highest level of safety for work to avoid lost time accidents, with immediate response and thorough investigations and corrective actions for all hazardous occurrences and accidents.
• Ensure all Mechanical and E&I maintenance activities are carried out by the Company’s HSEQ Standards, statutory requirements, Company Maintenance & Management System and best industry maintenance practices.
• Ensuring that there are adequate procedures and systems put in place for maintenance activities conducted within the process plant.
• Oversee all facilities planning and operations/functions including the maintenance, modification control of equipment, space allocation, move and construction.
• Works with counterparts in parent and subsidiary companies on technology transfers to raise maintenance performance standards.
• Line management responsibility for Maintenance team members.
• Approval of all work requests for equipment maintenance and modifications related to improvements and safety of process and plant.
• Approval of requisition for new equipment and maintenance spares.
• Approval of Contractors’ daily timesheets.
• Approval of the daily maintenance activities and modifications in the plant.
• Approval of grade change maintenance activities, in consultation with the production department
• Planning and managing the shutdown maintenance.
• Provide training needs of Maintenance team members to ensure that they have the necessary skills and competencies to carry out their work in an efficient manner.
• Assessment and review of in-house contractors’ performance and the contract.
• Undertakes special assignments or projects as directed by the Manufacturing Director.

About you:

• Degree holding in Electrical / Instrument / Mechanical Engineering, with 10 - 15 years of work experience in plant maintenance.
• Experiences in the chemical industry in Singapore as a Manager or Assistant manager.
• Experiences and knowledge about maintenance of mechanical rotating equipment and static facilities.
• Experiences as E&I Process/Maintenance Engineer at a chemical plant or manufacturing facility.
• Better to have knowledge about and to be familiar with high voltage power supply/MCC, control panel and/or DCS design and system to manage establishment.
