New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer

Job Summary

An NPI (New Product Introduction) Engineer manages the journey of a new product from initial concept to mass production, developing processes, creating documentation, optimizing yields, and coordinating teams to ensure successful, high-quality product launches, focusing on design, testing, and process implementation.

Responsibilities

• Plan project timelines, allocate resources, and manage the NPI pipeline from concept through mass production to ensure timely product launches
• Create detailed product designs, interpret engineering drawings, and develop manufacturing processes and tooling to support production needs
• Establish and optimize production methods, creating standard work instructions to enhance efficiency and consistency for new products
• Oversee product testing and validation, troubleshoot issues, and ensure products meet defined quality standards
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Purchasing, and Production teams to facilitate smooth product transitions and reviews
• Manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and maintain accurate data updates in the Epicor system to support manufacturing and supply chain activities
• Bridge communication gaps between manufacturing and supply chain teams to align processes and improve product flow
• Drive yield improvement and process control initiatives to ensure product quality and manufacturing efficiency
• Troubleshoot programming or production problems related to new product introductions to minimize delays and defects
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices to enhance operational efficiency

Requirements:

• Diploma in Manufacturing or Mechanical fields with more than 3 years of relevant experience
• Ability to multitask and manage a wide spectrum of responsibilities effectively
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Knowledge of production routing and scheduling to support manufacturing planning and execution
