Process Engineer (Mold Testing)

GENERAL FUNCTION

a)    Responsible for planning, executing, and optimizinginjection mold trials within the mold testing Centre. The role focuses onvalidating mold functionality, establishing robust molding processes,troubleshooting molding defects, and supporting mold qualification prior toproduction handover.

b)    The role works closely with mold design, tooling,production, and quality teams to ensure molds meet customer requirements forquality, cycle time, and process stability

RESPONSIBILITIES

a)     Conduct injection Mold trials and sample validation for new and modifiedthermoplastic Molds.

b)     Establish scientific moulding/process window studies where applicable

c)     Set upand optimize moulding parameters. establishstable moulding processes

d)     Ensure Moldsachieve target cycle time and product quality requirements

e)    Analyse and troubleshoot moulding defects such as: Shortshot, Flash, Sink mark, Warpage, Burn mark, Weld line.

f)     Recommend corrective actions related to: Mold design,Gate design, Venting Cooling, Processing conditions

g)    Recommend Mold modifications and process improvements totooling and design teams.

h)     Monitor Moldperformance and identify root causes of process instability

i)      Support FAI, sample submission,and customer approval processes

j)      Prepare Mold trial reports andtechnical analysis documentation

k)     Coordinate Mold improvement activities and follow-up actions.

l)      Supporttransition of Molds from toolroom trials to mass production.

m)   Maintainproper documentation and process records
