Product Engineer

ProductEngineer (PE)

Position Summary

The Product Engineer is responsible for owning product performance,yield, and reliability throughout the manufacturing lifecycle of opticaltransceivers. This role serves as the technical interface between design,manufacturing, test, and quality teams, ensuring product stability andcontinuous improvement from NPI through mass production.

Key Responsibilities

• Own product performance in manufacturing:

·    Yield

·    Reliability

·    Field performance

• Analyze and drive improvement in:

·    Yield loss

·    Failure modes

·    Customer returns

• Lead failure analysis (FA) and root cause investigations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams:

·    Design Engineering

·    Manufacturing

·    Test Engineering

·    Quality

• Support NPI activities:

·    Product bring-up

·    Debug and validation

• Monitor product health:

·    Yield trends

·    Reliability data

·    RMA trends

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives:

·    Cost reduction

·    Quality improvement

• Maintain product documentation and change control (ECO/ECN)

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related discipline

Experience

·       5+ years of experience in productengineering, optical module, or electronics manufacturing

·       Experience in optical transceiver productsis highly preferred

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of product architecture:

·    Optical transceiver modules (TOSA, ROSA,BOSA, PIC, DSP, PCB)

• Knowledge of:

·    Optical performance parameters (BER, OMA,ER, sensitivity)

·    Electrical performance and signalintegrity

• Experience with:

·    Yield analysis and data mining

·    Failure analysis (FA)

·    Reliability testing (HTOL, TC, Burn-in)

• Familiarity with:

·    NPI phases (EVT/DVT/PVT)

·    Manufacturing processes (SMT, DB, WB, AA,Test)

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and system-level problem-solving skills
• Excellent cross-functional communication
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
