The Role

Our client is a well-known food manufacturer in Singapore which provides career development and good benefits for its staff.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conceptualise and develop innovative products, from ingredient sourcing through laboratory trials to full commercialisation.
2. Continuously improve existing product formulations to enhance quality, taste, cost efficiency, and performance.
3. Ensure all product creation complies with customer specifications and local food regulatory requirements.
4. Conduct sensory evaluation and microbiological testing to assess product quality and safety.
5. Perform product shelf-life studies to determine durability, stability, and expiry parameters.
6. Prepare accurate product costings based on raw materials, processing methods, and packaging.
7. Collaborate with the Marketing department to understand customer needs and translate market requirements into technical specifications, while also liaising with overseas customers and distributors to support international business.
8. Provide technical support services, participate in feasibility studies for overseas factory setup, and carry out other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

1. Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field.
2. 2 years of relevant R&D experience in food manufacturing (preferred).
3. Knowledge of sensory evaluation and basic microbiological testing methods.
4. Familiarity with product shelf-life study protocols.
5. Understanding of food safety regulations (SFA, HACCP, GMP).
