Senior Buyer

Position Description (Summary):

Own end-to-end sourcing, cost, supply and inventory, Paints, Solvents, and related direct materials. Ensure uninterrupted supply, cost competitiveness, and optimal inventory DOH.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Strategic Sourcing & Cost Savings

• Develop category strategy and deliver YoY cost savings via negotiation, value analysis/value engineering, long term agreement and alternate sourcing.
• Conduct market analysis for key monomers, resins, solvents. Drive should-cost models.
• Lead negotiation: Price, LT, MOQ, Payment terms, rebate, VMI.
• Qualify alternate suppliers and drive PPAP/PSW approval with SQE/Design.

2) Supplier Management

• PO & Supply Assurance: Ensure 100% PO accuracy and >98% supplier OTD, Zero Production line stops due to purchasing.

• Lead suppliers’ audits with SQE for IATF/ISO-9001/13485 compliance, performance scorecards and continuous improvement plans.
• Perform supplier risk assessment, dual-sourcing and business continuity plan.

3) Inventory Control

• Demand & Inventory Ownership: Own DOH, Inventory value, turnover for resins & paints.
• Drive Safety Stock optimization with Planning to reduce excess/obsolescence.
• Monitor Aging stock.

4) Cross-Functional Coordination

• Alignment with Planning, Store and Quality on supply, forecast and issues.
• Support NPI trials, ECN implementation, and cost-down validation.

5) Monthly Purchasing KPIs and Reports

• Coordinate and consolidate Purchasing KPIs.
• Continuous improvement initiatives.

 6) Digital Purchasing

• Drive adoption of SAP/New ERP system for RFQ, PowerBI dashboards for spend, savings, OTD, Inventory and aging.

Job Specification:

1) Educational Qualifications:

• Minimum diploma or equivalent related field.

2) Other Technical/Professional Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of resin/paint chemistry, BOM structures.

3) Experience

• Knowledge on should-cost modelling, TCO analysis, negotiation and contract management.

• 5+ years in purchasing, with 3+ years in resin, paint, coatings or chemical buying.

4) Skills Required

• Data-driven, strong in Excel/SAP and presentation skills.
• Vocal and confident with suppliers and stakeholders.
