Supplier Quality Engineer

The Supplier Quality Engineer supports quality assurance activities by assisting with validation and audits, maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS),investigating customer complaints, and supporting supplier qualification and development. The role is also responsible for document preparation, records management, and ensuring compliance with established quality procedures while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in QA processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support quality projects and ensure deliverables are completed according to project timelines.
• Perform inspections, measurements, and data analysis to ensure product quality requirements are met.
• Investigate quality issues, customer complaints, and non-conformances and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Maintain and improve Quality Management System (QMS) processes incompliance with ISO 9001 and other applicable standards
• Conduct internal audits and supplier qualification audits and support supplier development initiatives.
• Review and manage PPAP submissions, quality documentation, and process control plans.
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
• Prepare quality reports, performance metrics, and dashboards for management and customer reviews.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Perform any other ad-hoc duties and responsibilities assigned by the superior.

Requirements:

• ITE/ Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 2years of experience in Supplier Quality Management, Supplier Development and Supplier Qualification.
• Familiar with manufacturing process, precision engineering and quality assurance environment with exposure to a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of mechanical drawings, GD&T, machining processes and plating processes.
• Knowledge in CAPA/ 8D/ Root Cause Analysis.
• Basic knowledge on ISO 9001, Process Capability, SPC, FMEA, Error Proofing, 8D, PPAP.
• Able to operate OGP Smart Scope program independently.
• Able to use basic measuring instruments such as caliper, micrometer and profile projector.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous with supply quality control measures.
