Technician, Welding

Responsible to perform functions to weld components for product line assemblies in accordance with established weld procedure specifications.

• Read and understand blueprints and engineering drawing, weld specifications and weld symblos
• Set up, operate and maintain welding machinery as well as other hand tools in the workshop
• Perform welding or overlay work with appropriate material using both manual and or automated welding process
• Select appropriate filler material, welding parameter and tools or equipment
• Perform weld or overlay in accordance with varying conditions and material to achieve proper fusion, strength and quality
• Able to perform MIG/TIG/SMAW/SAW
• Repair and maintain fixture and tools
• Able to diagnose causes of weld defects and take corrective action
• Qualify to use SAW, MIG, SMAW and TIG processes
• Assist as required in gouging, oxy flame cutting, grinding, material handling or other related work in diffcult working conditions
• Visually inspect welds to determine compliance to standards
• Ensure proper segregation of non-conforming products
• Comply with all applicable quality, health, safety, security and environmental regulations
• Perform other related duties as assigned or indicated by responsibilities
