Bunker Trader

Responsibilities:

• Support senior traders in conducting market research and analysis to identify trading opportunities and trends in the oil and gas market. Monitor supply and demand dynamics, geopolitical developments, and price movements of energy commodities.
• Assist in executing trades, including buying and selling oil and gas products, negotiating prices, and arranging logistics for product delivery. Follow established trading strategies and risk management protocols to optimize trading performance.
• Manage trade orders and ensure timely and accurate execution of trades. Coordinate with internal teams, counterparties, and logistics providers to facilitate the smooth flow of trade transactions.
• Assist in monitoring and managing trading risks, including market risk, credit risk, and operational risk. Adhere to risk limits and guidelines set by the trading desk and compliance department.
• Maintain accurate records of trade transactions, contracts, and related documentation. Prepare trade confirmations, invoices, and reports for internal use and regulatory compliance purposes.
• Build and maintain relationships with counterparties, brokers, and other stakeholders in the oil and gas industry. Communicate effectively with clients and vendors to address inquiries, resolve issues, and foster long-term partnerships.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies governing trading activities. Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting energy trading operations.
• Assist in analyzing trading performance and evaluating the effectiveness of trading strategies. Identify areas for improvement and contribute ideas to enhance trading profitability and efficiency.
• Continuously seek opportunities for learning and professional development in the field of energy trading and the oil and gas industry. Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and new trading technologies/tools.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent numerical and quantitative abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software/tools. Knowledge of financial markets, energy commodities, and trading principles is preferred.
• Previous internship or work experience in trading, finance, or the oil and gas industry is a plus.
