Derivatives Trader

Reporting to the Global Head of LNG, this role is accountable to own and grow the LNG derivatives trading book, executing trading and hedging strategies aligned with physical LNG exposure and portfolio optimisation. You will play a key role in driven P&L within defined mandates while contributing to development of the LNGderivatives function and trading standards. 

This role is Singapore based. 

Key account abilities：

• Shape and execute derivatives trading strategies using fundamental analysis, market intelligence, and portfolio optionality to drive value.
• Partner with market analysis, research, and physical trading teams to generate insights, align strategies, and effectively hedge Oil & LNG exposures.
• Oversee execution and performance of the derivatives portfolio, ensuring strategies (e.g., dynamic forward trading and hedging) deliver against trading mandates.
• Own risk management across trading books, including monitoring exposures, managing limits, and ensuring compliance with governance, valuation, and liquidity requirements. 

Skills based on the job descriptions:

• Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics or related quantitative discipline.
• Strong analytical skills. 
• Experience in LNG, natural gas, or energy derivatives trading within leading IOCs, commodity trading houses, banks, or hedge funds, with demonstrable P&L.
• Comprehensive understanding of global LNG and gas market architecture including supply-demand dynamics, liquefaction and regas capacity, shipping logistics, storage optionality, and price formation across JKM, TTF, Henry Hub and regional hubs
• Deep expertise in cross-commodity and cross-regional spreads, basis differentials, index arbitrage, and dynamic hedging strategies aligned to physical exposure
• Strong knowledge of structured LNG contracts, optionality valuation, and the interaction between physical and financial markets
