Job Summary
The Lead SEO & Generative Search Strategist manages and develops an SEO team, implements SEO and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) strategies, and ensures client satisfaction by combining leadership, technical SEO expertise, and client management.
Responsibilities
Lead, motivate, and train a team of SEO specialists to achieve individual and team KPIs aligned with Digital Marketing Manager objectives
Conduct performance reviews and set clear objectives for team members
Oversee onboarding and training processes for new SEO team members
Develop and implement comprehensive on-page and off-page SEO strategies tailored to client needs
Conduct detailed website audits and translate findings into actionable SEO improvements
Manage backlinking processes ensuring guest post quality and hygiene
Optimize content specifically for AI-powered search engines and generative AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Claude, and Grok
Develop citation-worthy content strategies to enhance brand visibility in AI-generated search results
Monitor and analyze brand presence in generative AI responses and establish GEO performance metrics
Stay updated on generative AI model developments and adapt SEO/GEO strategies accordingly
Participate in client pitches and presentations to communicate SEO and GEO strategies effectively
Engage in ongoing client discussions to clarify SEO/GEO processes and align strategies with client goals
Collaborate with sales and account servicing teams to tailor SEO and GEO strategies to client objectives
Develop and maintain monthly performance reports detailing campaign outcomes and insights
Monitor team performance metrics and provide weekly updates to the Digital Marketing Manager on campaign status and issues
Ensure quality assurance and timely delivery of SEO and GEO work outputs
Design and improve SEO/GEO workflows and processes for operational efficiency
Identify and implement opportunities for automation and integration of SEO tools
Required competencies and certifications
Minimum 5 years of SEO experience, including at least 2 years in a team lead or managerial role
Strong expertise in on-page, off-page, and technical SEO, including conducting audits and managing backlink strategies
Working knowledge of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and AI-powered search platforms such as Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude
Experience managing multiple client accounts and collaborating with sales, client servicing, and creative teams
Proficiency in SEO and analytics tools including Google Analytics, Search Console, Ahrefs, or SEMrush
Strong communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills
