Job Description - Marketing Communications Executive

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Manager of Marketing Communications and Admissions, the Marketing Communications Executive is responsible for supporting the execution of all brand initiatives, promotional activities, school publications and events. Operating under the direction of the Manager, the executive will monitor industry trends and offer data-driven proposals to enhance the school’s marketing strategy. All duties must be executed in strict alignment with ISS's established brand guidelines and compliance standards.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Engagement & Outreach

  • Stakeholder Relationship: Liaise and network with a range of stakeholders, including current families, alumni, colleagues, partners, and external vendors/suppliers.
  • Content Execution: Execute the day-to-day production of school marketing collateral—including promotional videos, email campaigns, leaflets, posters, and digital assets—ensuring strict alignment with established brand guidelines.
  • Media Asset Management: Coordinate and execute photography and videography sessions during school activities, community events, and daily classroom lessons to maintain and organize a robust media library.
  • Market Intelligence Support: Support the Manager in monitoring competitor activities, gathering educational market trends, and compiling data to help identify new outreach opportunities.

2. Digital Media & Channels (Web & Social)

  • Channel Maintenance: Execute timely updates across the school website and official social media platforms. Conduct routine checks with internal content owners to keep web copy accurate, relevant, and current.
  • Content Deployment: Publish approved social media posts and manage the day-to-day editorial calendar under the direction of the Manager.
  • Technical & Community Support: Act as the primary point of contact with external web developers to troubleshoot website issues. Monitor social media channels to engage with the online community and escalate complex queries to the Manager.
  • School Advocacy: Encourage an internal culture of content-sharing by proactively collecting stories, photos, and highlights from staff and students for digital use.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Pull traffic data, user behavior stats, and social media engagement metrics to help the Manager analyze performance and plan future optimizations.

3. Publications (e-Newsletter & Yearbook)

  • e-Newsletter Execution: Support the coordination of timelines and content plans for the school e-newsletter. Execute content collection, drafting, layout formatting, and email delivery.
  • Yearbook Coordination: Implement the production timeline set by the Manager for the annual school Yearbook. Manage the timely collection of class photos, student write-ups, and departmental submissions.
  • Vendor Liaison: Coordinate directly with external printers, graphic designers, and translation suppliers to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery of both digital and physical publications.

4. Event Support

  • Event Coordination: Assist the Manager in drafting event checklists, production timelines, and logistics plans for major school events (e.g., Open Houses, admissions seminars, and education fairs).
  • Collateral Coordination: Coordinate the timely production and delivery of all event-specific marketing materials, signage, and promotional giveaways.
  • On-Site Execution: Support the physical setup, logistics, and smooth operations on the day of the event as directed.

5. Core Competencies & Quality Control

  • Editorial Review: Meticulously proofread all public-facing copy to ensure grammatical accuracy, proper tone, and alignment with the school's brand identity before submission.
  • Approval Workflow: Adhere strictly to the internal content approval flows, ensuring all materials are fully reviewed and approved by the Manager prior to publication.
  • Departmental Support: Provide proactive project, administrative, and ad-hoc support to the Manager and the broader Admissions and Marketing team.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Mass Communications, Event Management, Photography and Film/video production or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2-3years of relevant experience
