Accountant

The successful candidate will be supporting the Senior Manager in managing the overall finance functions for Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI), including:

• Supporting various stakeholders, such as management, the Research teams, SHQ and SNEC etc.
• Performing the operational finance and related functions for SERI
• Systems changes/ and ad hoc matters
• Monthly and yearly closing
• Budgeting
• Grant and External Audit
• Administrative support for Audit and Risks Committee Meeting

Job Descriptions:

• Management reporting: provide timely financial updates to management.
• Grants reporting: reviewing their budgets, monitor and update regularly on budget utilisations, in-charge grant claims and propose necessary actions. Be the main point of contact for Grant Audit.
• Financial Accounting & Statutory Audit: manage the GL, AR, AP - ensure timely closing of monthly accounts and year-end accounts. Be the main point of contact for year-end close activity with shared services and auditors.
• Budget, costing and banking: Prepare yearly budget including to prepare powerpoint materials, monitor budget utilisation on a regular basis, support stakeholders on costing needs, banking related matters for SERI Finance team.
• Stakeholders support: DMU team/Animal Lab team in the reporting and/or projection of financials or costings, submission of reports to headquarter, government related agencies, Charity Portal and others. Compile of numbers and materials for presentation of ARC meetings.
• Systems and projects: participate in systems changes/testing/ implementation and other projects when required.
• Others: expose to other analysis tools that can help in Analysis and information presentation, take on ad-hoc duties when assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum a full ACCA certificate or Degree in Accountancy
• Relevant healthcare-related experience is preferred
• Experience in updating and reporting financials for multiple grants is preferred
• Experience in using SAP FICO and Grant Management module, and SAP Hyperion BPC is preferred
• Good team player
