The Ambulance Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of patients, medical personnel, and equipment. The role includes ensuring the ambulance is roadworthy, maintaining cleanliness and readiness of the vehicle, and supporting the medical crew during patient transfers while complying with all safety regulations and company SOPs.
Responsibilities:
Transport patients to and from hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, residences, and event sites.
Assist paramedics, nurses, or EMTs during patient loading and unloading using appropriate lifting and transfer techniques.
Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or maintenance issues promptly.
Maintain accurate trip records, vehicle logbooks, mileage, and patient transport documentation.
Communicate effectively with the Operations Team regarding dispatches, route changes, and service updates.
Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency transport requests.
Provide courteous, professional, and compassionate service to patients, family members, and healthcare partners.
Ensure the ambulance is clean, disinfected, fully fuelled, well-maintained, and operationally ready at all times by performing daily vehicle inspections, including checks on tyres, lights, sirens, stretcher, oxygen supply, and other essential medical equipment.
Assist in the loading, unloading, replenishment, and proper maintenance of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring all items are adequately stocked and ready for deployment.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Operations Manager.
Requirements:
Valid Singapore Class 3 or Class 3A Driving Licence (Class 4 is an advantage if required by the company).
Defensive driving license (plus point)
Clean driving record with good knowledge of Singapore roads.
Physically fit and able to assist with patient transfers and lifting.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, public holidays, and on-call duties when required.
Basic First Aid, CPR, certification is preferred but not mandatory (training may be provided)
