Job Description - Analyst, Nostro Reconciliation Specialist, ORM, Group COO
Job Purpose: Ops COO - NRU unit is the nostro reconciliation hub for DBS group. The unit has two functions: - Nostro account reconciliation & the Business Management Support (BMS) that manages static data, feeds processes and production of daily MIS. The focus for this role is to support Nostro reconciliations activities, conduct investigation on nostro breaks and participate in new business initiatives and projects.
Job Duties & Responsibilities: • To have deep understanding on Nostro reconciliation and Investigation processes and principles • Perform reconciliation for Nostro accounts of DBS entities regionally • Process matching instructions provided by Business units • Perform investigations of reconciliation breaks independently and jointly with business units, within the agreed turn-around time • Ensure all assigned reconciliations are completed within agreed SLA timelines • Perform monthly GL Account Ownership (GLAO) reconciliation for account balance substantiation and highlight aging breaks as of month end to Business Units • Support BU/SU on ad-hoc queries / issues raised and ensuring resolution within reasonable timelines independently • Enhance Nostro reconciliation automation via close collaboration with stakeholders to create auto-matching rules • Develop working knowledge of relevant workflow and office systems. Provide suggestions on improvement to reduce operation risks and increase productivity. • Drive innovation, re-engineer Nostro reconciliation and investigation processes to achieve process standardization and improvement in controls. • Participate in new business initiative discussions, assess, and provide Nostro reconciliation requirements, raise any risks, and formulate action plans for resolution. • Manage, plan, coordinate, and monitor project-related changes. • Highlight risks and issues impacting the project. • Ensure compliance with all of the bank's policies, guidelines, and codes of conduct.
Required Experience/Skills: Qualification: Degree holder Experience:Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in Banking Operations.
Experience of Cash Operations, Remittance, Treasury & Markets, Break Investigation would be highly beneficial.
Experience in managing SmartStream TLM system or other reconciliation systems will be highly beneficial.
Analytical Skills: Ability to collect and analyse information and make recommendations.
Interpersonal skills: Able to independently engage Support & Business Units on reconciliation matters as well as to escalate and articulate issues and proposed resolutions.
Communication Skills: Essential that written, spoken and listening skills are very strong. Demonstrate effective presentation skills, comfortable with audience of senior level professionals.
Leadership Skills/ Drive: Demonstrate leadership skills and an ability to grow and keep pace with rapid changes in the business.
IT Skills: Good command of software skills, MS Office etc. & Excel skill.
