Who We’re Looking For

What You’ll Do

The Rates Strategist will support idea generation, trade structuring, building monitors, tracking markets across global rates complex for the investment team. This role involves analysing economic data, yield curves, fixed-income markets, and policy developments to produce actionable insights. The strategist will collaborate closely with the CIO and the investment team to deliver high quality analysis and trade ideas.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Monitor and analyse global interest rate markets, including bonds, swaps, money markets, and related derivatives
• Track macroeconomic indicators, central bank policies, and geopolitical events to assess implications for rates markets
• Conduct yield curve analysis, term premium decomposition, and scenario modelling
• Contribute to daily, weekly, and thematic research publications
• Develop relative value and directional trade ideas in rates markets
• Support internal discussions on market positioning, risk themes, and strategy recommendations for clients
• Build and maintain analytical models, dashboards and tools to support systematic screening and idea generation (e.g., curve fitting, regression models, PCA, scenario simulators)
• Manage time series data, Bloomberg extractions, and automated reporting tools
• Work with quant/technology team to enhance data pipelines and dashboards
• Partner with portfolio managers to assess market dislocations, liquidity, and positioning

Who We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related field
• 2–5 years of experience in a financial market role (research, trading, strategy, economics, quant, or related), with a deep understanding of interest rate derivatives and fixed income securities
• Strong understanding of macroeconomics and central bank policy frameworks
• Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Bloomberg and programming knowledge in Python/R/SQL
• Strong writing skills and ability to communicate complex market topics clearly
• High attention to detail and ability to work in fast paced environments
