The Animal Welfare Officer (AWO) is responsible for the treatment, care, and overall well-being of animals. The AWO plays an important role in ensuring the welfare of animals within the shelter and executing prescribed treatment and enrichment plans to support the well-being and potential adoption of the animals under their care.
The AWO works largely in a semi-outdoor environment and is required to be physically fit. On occasion, he/she may be required to support Animal Rescue Officers in housing difficult rescue cases.
