Job Description:
The Head of payment channel partnerships is a senior-level position focused on working with ecommerce stakeholders to identify payment channel partnership opportunities such optimizing the infrastructure of payment methods success rate and/or payment experience and negotiating with channel partners on viable commercial rates. This role typically manages relationships with banks, wallets, card networks and fintech providers. This role involves executing strategy, solution enablement, performance tracking, and executive relationship with channel partners. This role will directly report to the Head of Regional Payment Operations (SE ASIA & South Asia).
What You'll Do:
1. Strategic Partnership & Network Management
• Acquisition & Nurturing: Identify, negotiate, and onboard new bank channel partners, card networks (Visa/MasterCard), and alternative payment methods (APMs).
• Relationship Management: Maintain high-level relationships with key partners to ensure competitive pricing, improved service agreements, and top-tier support.
2. Channel Optimization & Operations
• Performance Optimization: Analyze payment channel data (success rates, risk control failures) to improve transaction efficiency
• Risk & Compliance: Ensure all partnerships and payment flows comply with country's regulations
• Technical Integration: Collaborate with payment operations, product and technical teams to integrate new payment methods and optimize the checkout experience.
• Commercialization: Lead in the payment costs negotiations to ensure market competitive rates
3. Leadership and cross functional collaborations
• Team Building: The role will have people management opportunity to lead and groom team members to the meet set objectives.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Payments Marketing, Payment operations Legal, Finance, and Product teams to align channel activities with company goals.

What You'll Bring
• 8-10+ years of relevant experience in partnerships, business development, or product management within fintech, banking, or payments.
• Regional Expertise: Knowledge of local regulations and payment channel best practices, particularly in Southeast Asia
• Must have strong stakeholder management skills and easily adaptable in fast paced work environment.
• You are an exceptional communicator and can connect with people at all levels, internally and with external stakeholders.
• You have strong negotiation skills and can hustle to make multiple complex deals work parallel across regions.
