Applications Engineer - Positive Work Culture

Summary

Applications Engineer is responsible for supporting the business initiatives to drive solution-based selling, working closely with sales team, customer service and strategic marketing to clearly communicate the value proposition to customers.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Offer technical support and expertise advice to customers (both internal and external) on product selection, solutions and other applications knowledge. 
• Do regular site visits as part of field learning experiences and also to help troubleshoot issues as necessary. 
• Work with sales team to provide customers with product demonstrations and company presentations, technical solution and products offer.
• Work with the Garlock global application team to maintain close coordination and cooperation, access to product related information and seek for technical support when necessary. 
• Participate actively in knowledge exchange through global forums and case studies. 
• Conduct necessary technical training to customers, distribution partners and internal team.
• EPC related projects - to support the sales team in spec-in activities with the best solution, as well as reviewing project technical/testing specifications.
• Work with QC team on product defects/issues/technical aspects.
• Other ad hoc duties assigned by the supervisor.

Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Manufacturing and Engineering is preferred. 
• More than three years relevant experience, research and development or technical support experience.
• Competent in SolidWorks/AutoCAD. 
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of Excel spreadsheets

Personal Qualifications

• Strong problem – solving skills and engineering knowledge, good ethics.
• Cross-industry application experience. 
• Ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time, have good communication skills, ability to work independently.
• Self-driven, good to accept the challenge, have a strong concept of teamwork.
• Industrial sealing products industry work experience is preferred.
• Mechanical engineering or application engineering expertise background and field experience preferred.
