Architectural Coordinator

Job Summary

The Architectural Design Coordinator is responsible for coordinating architectural design development, BIM modelling, and shop drawing production to ensure timely and accurate project delivery. The role works closely with consultants, offshore and onshore design teams, and the construction team to ensure designs are coordinated and compliant with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the architectural modellers and drafters to ensure timely delivery of quality drawings.
• Coordinate and provide technical information to both offshore and onshore design teams.
• Liaise with Architectural, Civil & Structural, M&E, and other discipline coordinators to ensure all models and drawings are fully coordinated.
• Review consultants' and specialist contractors' design drawings and translate approved designs into coordinated shop drawings.
• Ensure all designs comply with project specifications, Singapore codes, BCA regulations, and relevant industry standards.
• Review drawings, specifications, and design details to identify potential issues and recommend improvements before issuance.
• Monitor the design programme and ensure timely submission of shop drawings in accordance with the project master schedule.
• Coordinate with the BIM Manager on BIM presentations, clash detection, coordination meetings (ICE), and model submissions.
• Monitor shop drawing progress and provide technical support to the site construction team.
• Ensure the quality, accuracy, and completeness of architectural shop drawings and BIM models.
• Prepare and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to consultants and follow up on responses.
• Prepare and issue Site Design Amendments (SDAs) where necessary.
• Attend design coordination meetings and resolve design and technical issues to support smooth project execution.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Structural Engineering, Building, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in architectural design coordination with a Singapore main contractor.
• Experience in PPVC, precast, modular construction, or DfMA projects will be an advantage.
• Good knowledge of Singapore construction practices, BCA regulations, and relevant building codes.
• Strong understanding of architectural detailing, shop drawing preparation, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and BIM software such as Revit and Navisworks.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and M&E drawings.
• Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple design deliverables within project timelines.
