Job Title: Assembly Technician / Asst Engineer
Overall Job Objective
The Assembly Technician’s / Asst Engineer’s role is to complete assigned jobs in a high mix, low volume environment with a focus on quality of work, on-time delivery, safety and high productivity.
Core Responsibilities
- Interpret assembly drawings;
- Perform assembly of medium to large jigs and fixtures more than 1metre in length based on drawing requirements;
- Maintain inventory of raw materials and standard parts;
- Perform pre-assembly activities such as cleaning and lubricating;
- Perform final checks and adjustments for any defects to ensure high quality products;
- Perform installation, repair & inspection, reassembly, replacing, refitting, and adjusting products as required;
- Maintain good housekeeping within work area;
- Manage assembly scheduling and monitor job readiness at assembly;
- Assist in related projects or assignments assigned by Supervisor / Manager.
Requirements
- NITEC / Diploma in Precision Engineering or equivalent would be preferred.
- Able to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Able to work independently and possess a high level of initiative. A self-motivated team player.
- Able to work overtime and willing to work shifts when required.
- An eye for detail and a steady hand for precision assembly work.
- A good general technical and mechanical knowledge.
- Training will be provided for those without relevant qualifications and working experience.
