Assistant Executive / Executive (Motor UW & BD)

Responsibilities:

Team 1 Underwriter A will be given a panel of intermediaries, including Financial Advisors, and will assist the Team 2 Lead Underwriter. The principal accountabilities are as below:

• Underwrite new A&H business in accordance with the underwriting guidelines and objectives;
• Liaising, advising and servicing (Including rapport building) intermediaries/insureds on A&H insurance matters;
• Reviewing renewal policies with claims record;
• Monitor and review own portfolio to ensure profitable growth in line with company targets;
• Provide guidance and coaching to junior underwritiers and adminstrative assistants;
• Provide support to Team Lead Underwriter and other underwriters as required;
• Any other responsibilities as assigned by Team Lead Underwriter and/or Department Head.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of underwriting experience in A&H insurance;
• Complete MAS-required qualifications to provide advice on insurance matters;
• Good technical knowledge of A&H underwriting factors;
• Good communication skill, tact and patience needed in handling clients for this very competitive class of business;
• Able to multi-task, and is a team player, conscientious, tactful and willing to learn new skills;
• Able to work independently and interact with different levels of customers.
