Assistant Farm Supervisor

Primary Function

Dual roles with main role to support Farm supervisor, with assignment to Feed Mill Operations as needed:

Assist and support the Farm Supervisor with the day-to-day management of the farm.

Assist Feed Mill Supervisor to handle receiving, conveying, and mixing to create feed as orders are made.

Assist to ensure company standards (e.g. production, food safety, animal welfare, workplace and health safety standards) are met.

Roles and Responsibilities

· Assist on in the day-to-day operations to ensure productivity and efficiency.

· Mentor, coach and train/ cross-train staff and provide consistent feedback concerning strengths and areas in need of improvement.

· Keep track of inventory to ensure smooth operation and production.

· Cover the alarm as required ensuring it is operational and any faults rectified immediately

· Ensure that Bio-Security is maintained at all times, and report any issues.

· Ensure that Site is maintained in clean, tidy and presentable manner.

· Follow and promote all safety initiatives, ensuring training is completed as required and on time, helping to maintain a zero-accident culture

· Perform additional relevant duties as assigned

Requirements

Agricultural Science or related fields preferred.

Experience in related fields an advantage.

Ability to work around live animals and associated odors.

The job can be physical demanding with standing for prolonged amounts of time.
