Job Description - Assistant Finance Manager

Role Description:

The Assistant Finance Manager will be based in Singapore and report to the Finance Manager.  He/ she needs to lead and guide senior accounting executive, analyse financial activities and assists the Finance Manager in the implementation of internal controls and other ad hoc projects

 

Responsibilities:

Finance Operations:

• Supervise daily finance operations and provide guidance to the group accountant to ensure prompt and accurate accounting record-keeping.

• Monitor and control periodic account closing procedures, including monthly audit schedules, intercompany/related company reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.

• Oversee external and internal audits, tax reporting, and compliance with other statutory requirements.

 

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):

• Assist in preparing financial reporting packs, rolling forecasts, and annual budget exercises, including reviewing and preparing budget reporting packs.

• Perform commercial analysis to support forecasts and ongoing business performance across all business units.

• Collaborate with stakeholders on key cost drivers and develop robust financial models to support business case assessments.

 

Cashflow & Working Capital Management (Treasury):

• Develop and maintain accurate cashflow forecasts to ensure adequate liquidity for day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.

• Identify and mitigate risks associated with cashflow fluctuations, currency exchange rates, interest rates, and market volatility. Develop strategies to protect the company's financial position and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Continuously evaluate and enhance cashflow and working capital management processes to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.

 

Specifications/Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills):

  • Possess minimum qualification of bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
  • Demonstration of key finance competencies and qualifications with at least 5 years of experience.
  • Ability to take initiative, guide and influence others towards goal accomplishment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  •  A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
  • Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
  • Proficient user of finance software.
