This Finance Business Partner position is a crucial addition to our team, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. We are looking for a candidate who is not only confident and strategic but also possesses strong analytical skills and a talent for conveying financial insights effectively. This role demands extensive collaboration with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, requiring the ability to influence key decisions and maintain a proactive, strategic mindset in alignment with our financial goals.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough analysis of business performance including month-over-month, quarter-over-quarter, and year-over-year comparisons, as well as against budget/forecast, at both departmental and program levels.
- Prepare monthly financial reports using MS Power BI, focusing on dashboards, departmental profit and loss statements, and reports on capacity trends and variances.
- Manage financial aspects of funding requests and reports.
- Coordinate the annual submission and reporting for the Community Silver Trust Grant Call, including quality assurance by auditors, and addressing related inquiries.
- Enhance the quality of management accounting and informational data.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Oversee Support Unit Allocations and conducting in-depth analysis of expenses to identify cost drivers and improve budget accuracy.
- Track key business metrics to spot areas for improvement or opportunities and recommending strategies for optimization.
- Provide support for other financial accounting tasks and participating in ad-hoc duties, assignments, or projects as required.
Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy or Finance, Chartered Accountant, or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Min 5 years’ experience in business finance, financial performance management, or management reporting, preferably in charitable organization.
- Proficiency in MS Power BI and PowerPoint.
- Ability to interpret financial data and translate it into actionable plans and insightful information, effectively communicating financial narratives.
- Strong team player with excellent analytical skills, a proactive approach, and an inquisitive mindset.
- Good interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
- Confident and a self-driven attitude with a willingness to challenge the status quo.
- Comprehensive understanding of Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) and accounting principles.
