Job Description - Assistant Manager, Marketing

You will support the AVP (Business Development & Marketing) in driving business growth and working closely with relevant business divisions to execute marketing strategies aimed at increasing passenger traffic and promoting SCCPL’s services and facilities. Your role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to amplify events, secure financial support, and optimize revenue.

Responsibilities

1. Destination Marketing:

  • Assist in developing and executing a comprehensive Destination Marketing strategy to drive passenger traffic in close partnership with internal teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (Ferry Operators, destination hotels, Riau tourism office, Bintan Resort, Desaru Coast) to secure financial support for marketing initiatives.
  • Amplify events at partner destinations, such as Bintan Resort and Desaru Coast, through strategic marketing efforts.

2. Marketing Terminal Services & Facilities:

  • Assist in marketing terminal services & facilities and commercial spaces to optimise revenue for SCCPL assets.
  • Implement creative approaches to garner financial support for marketing initiatives through collaboration with stakeholders.

3. Research & Analysis:

  • Assist in research of industry trends and developments.
  • Prepare forecasts and projections for the business to inform strategic decision-making.

4. Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support marketing initiatives and business growth.
  • Foster partnerships with ecosystem partners to identify revenue opportunities.

5. Marketing Administration: 

  • Perform administrative tasks related to marketing activities, including budget tracking, coordinating meetings, maintaining marketing materials, and preparing reports.
  • Any other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or Maritime-related disciplines
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in English is required; Conversancy Bahasa Melayu is an advantage
  • Related experience in the cruise industry or the adjacent space in tourism / hospitality would be a distinct advantage
