Job Description - Assistant Manager, Operations (Jurong Point) - Join a Leading Company

Responsibilities

  1. Housekeeping:
    1. Oversee and manage all aspects of housekeeping operations within the shopping mall.
    2. Develop and implement efficient cleaning protocols to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
  2. Pest Control:
    1. Coordinate pest control activities, ensuring a pest-free environment.
    2. Collaborate with pest control vendors to conduct regular inspections and implement preventive measures.
  3. Waste Disposal:
    1. Establish and manage waste disposal procedures, adhering to environmental regulations.
    2. Optimize waste management systems for efficiency and sustainability.
  4. Landscaping:
    1. Supervise landscaping initiatives to enhance the aesthetic appeal of outdoor areas.
    2. Implement sustainable landscaping practices to support environmental conservation.
  5. Environmental Sanitation Program:
    1. Design and execute environmental sanitation programs to promote a healthy and safe environment.
    2. Conduct regular assessments to identify and mitigate potential environmental health hazards.
  6. Cleaning and Disinfection:
    1. Set and monitor cleaning standards, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
    2. Implement disinfection protocols to maintain a hygienic environment, especially in high-touch areas.
  7. Pest Management:
    1. Develop and enforce pest management strategies to prevent infestations.
    2. Monitor and analyse pest control metrics to continuously improve effectiveness.
  8. Waste Management:
    1. Oversee waste segregation, recycling, and disposal procedures.
    2. Stay updated on waste management regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
  9. Environmental Hygiene and Food Safety:
    1. Ensure compliance with environmental hygiene standards and food safety regulations.
    2. Collaborate with relevant authorities to uphold health and safety standards.
  10. Maintenance of Kitchen Exhaust System:
    1. Supervise the maintenance of kitchen exhaust systems for optimal functionality.
    2. Implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and ensure safety.
  11. Indoor Air Quality and Water Efficiency:
    1. Monitor indoor air quality and implement measures to enhance it.
    2. Implement water-efficient practices and technologies to minimize water consumption.
  12. Contract Review and Renewal:
    1. Review existing contracts related to housekeeping, pest control, waste disposal, landscaping, and other environmental services.
    2. Negotiate contract terms, ensuring alignment with sustainability goals and cost-effectiveness.
  13. Vendor Management:
    1. Collaborate with vendors to ensure the delivery of high-quality environmental services.
    2. Evaluate vendor performance and address any issues to maintain service excellence.
  14. Cost Optimization:
    1. Identify cost-saving opportunities within environmental service contracts.
    2. Streamline processes and negotiate favourable terms to optimize budget allocations.
  15. Environmental Compliance:
    1. Ensure that all environmental service contracts comply with relevant environmental regulations.
    2. Stay informed about changes in regulations that may impact service agreements.
  16. Performance Metrics:
    1. Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for environmental service contracts.
    2. Regularly assess and report on vendor performance against established metrics.
  17. Renewable Practices Integration:
    1. Integrate renewable and sustainable practices into environmental service contracts.
    2. Encourage vendors to adopt eco-friendly methods and materials.
  18. Contractual Documentation:
    1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all environmental service contracts.
    2. Ensure that contractual obligations, timelines, and deliverables are clearly outlined.
  19. Stakeholder Communication:
    1. Communicate contract renewals and changes to relevant stakeholders.
    2. Foster positive relationships with vendors and internal teams involved in environmental services.
  20. Budget Planning:
    1. Assist in the development of budgets related to environmental services.
    2. Monitor expenditures and ensure cost-effectiveness in line with budgetary constraints.

 

Requirements:

  • Passionate about building facilities management.
  • Possess minimum 8 years of relevant experience in housekeeping, pest control, waste management and/or landscaping, in a similar capacity with working knowledge in mid to large size shopping mall.
  • Able to interact with various stakeholders from all levels. 
  • A team player who is proactive, result oriented, and possesses excellent communication skills, able to work independently and perform under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Possesses at least a Diploma in Real Estate/Building/Facilities Management, Engineering, or related disciplines.
