Job Description - Assistant Manager/Senior Executive, Actuarial (Par Fund Management)
Description
Key Responsibilities
Support the management of participating funds, including bonus investigations, recommendation analysis, and bonus implementation.
Perform experience studies, financial impact assessments, and analyses to support bonus declaration and participating fund management decisions.
Maintain and enhance the participating fund governance framework and support its effective application across the participating portfolio.
Prepare actuarial analyses, management reports, and committee papers relating to participating fund management activities.
Support the team lead in participating fund initiatives, regulatory exercises, and strategic projects.
Contribute to process improvement, automation, and data analytics initiatives to enhance actuarial efficiency and insights.
Collaborate with stakeholders across Actuarial, Finance, Risk, Product, and other business functions.
Participate in ad hoc assignments and projects in line with departmental priorities.
Ensure deliverables are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with internal governance standards, regulatory requirements, and industry guidelines.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
Progressing towards a professional actuarial qualification (SOA, IFoA, Institute of Actuaries Australia, or equivalent).
2–5 years of actuarial work experience, preferably with exposure to financial reporting, participating business, valuation, or capital management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in actuarial modelling, data analysis, and Microsoft Excel; experience with actuarial systems or programming tools (e.g., Prophet, Alteryx, VBA) is an advantage.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Adaptable and open to change, with a willingness to learn new technologies and explore innovative ways of working.
