Assistant Underwriter (Non-Life Treaty Reinsurance)

Responsibilities

• Support the Underwriting Manager throughout the treaty renewal process, including preparing renewal statistics, reviewing treaty documentation, and coordinating with brokers and cedants.
• Process underwriting information by updating pricing tools, Nat Cat modelling data, renewal checklists, and treaty administration systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare, review, and maintain underwriting documentation, including treaty slips, contract wordings, reports, and electronic and physical filing in accordance with company standards.
• Generate periodic reports for Head Office, including renewal statistics, Nat Cat reporting, contract certainty tracking, AML checks, and other regulatory or business reporting requirements.
• Provide administrative and operational support for underwriting activities, including monitoring outstanding documentation, updating treaty records, and assisting with ad hoc projects.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Non-Life Treaty Reinsurance Underwriting, treaty operations, or underwriting support.
• Good understanding of treaty reinsurance principles, underwriting processes, and pricing, with exposure to CAT modelling considered an advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, with strong data management and reporting skills.
• Meticulous and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage underwriting documentation accurately while handling multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and maintain high standards of quality and ownership.
