Job Description - Associate Director, Facultative

Job Description

  • Work closely with the CEO, CBO, Managing Director and Department Heads to drive the growth and performance of Facultative portfolios across Property, Political Violence, Energy and Construction.
  • Lead both production and placement activity, with a clear focus on profitable revenue generation and disciplined execution.
  • Identify, originate and convert new business opportunities, expanding both existing client relationships and new distribution channels.
  • Manage and develop junior team members, setting clear expectations around performance, accountability and delivery.
  • Oversee the end-to-end placement of risks, ensuring timely execution aligned with client requirements and all regulatory obligations.
  • Deliver high-quality client service across all facultative arrangements, including advising, structuring and securing appropriate coverage:
  1. Management of existing portfolios, including renewals
  2. Generation of new business (organic and inorganic channels)
  3. Marketing, placement and ongoing servicing of risks
  4. Own delivery against financial and operational targets for the business unit.
  • Drive effective communication across the broader business to ensure alignment and maximise collaboration opportunities.
  • Maintain high standards of governance and compliance, ensuring adherence to all company policies and procedures, particularly in relation to:
  1. Accurate conduct and recording of business
  2. Timely confirmation and evidencing of cover
  3. Proper documentation and filing of all communications
  4. Safeguarding of client monies
  5. Prompt escalation of breaches, errors & omissions, disputes and complaints
  • Collaborate with other business units to ensure a coordinated and consistent approach to clients and markets.
  • Provide regular, timely reporting to line management on performance, pipeline and key issues, including immediate escalation of:
  • Matters that may expose the company to legal, regulatory or financial risk
  • Serious disciplinary or conduct-related issues

  • Represent Price Forbes with clients, agents, suppliers and other organizations.

Legal, Risk and Compliance:

  • Comply with relevant legal, regulatory and compliance requirements, E&O compliance procedures and quality initiatives.
  • Escalation of any potential E&O's to Department Head / Directors at the earliest opportunity.
  • Ensure completion of all mandatory Company training and to deadline.

Regulatory Responsibilities / Knowledge Required:

  • To be aware with the detailed regulatory obligations imposed by Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
  • To ensure you are trained and competent to perform your duties to the required standard and in compliance with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) regulations.
  • Detailed understanding and knowledge of general insurance and underlying legal principles.

Requirements / Skills Required:

  • Compliance with the requirements of MAS502, for the registration as an Insurance Broker.
  • Experience placing, managing and servicing, both Direct and Facultative Property(re)insurance contracts across Asia and the Asia Pacific regions.
  • Previous exposure to a leadership and management role(s), track record as a trusted team leader as well as a good team player.
  • Ability to organize and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize own workload to ensure that deadlines are adhered to and targets are met.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to manage, lead, motivate and influence others.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and sustain relationships with both internal and external parties.
  • Confidence in representing the department or the company both internally and externally.
  • Proficient computer skills, such as Microsoft suites, etc.
