Associate, GBMO - Remediation (9 months contract) - Urgent Position

Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Associate for their Global Banking and Markets Onboarding (GBMO) team. This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to the overall success of the team in Singapore, ensuring that all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

What you'll do:

As an Associate in our Global Banking and Markets Onboarding team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth onboarding of GBM clients. You will be responsible for facilitating this process in a manner that is both efficient and compliant with all relevant regulations. Your ability to rapidly identify and escalate complex issues will be crucial in maintaining the integrity of our operations. You will also have the opportunity to work directly with our valued clients, helping them navigate through necessary KYC and AML documentation processes. Your commitment to fostering a customer-focused culture will help us deepen these client relationships while leveraging broader banking systems and knowledge.

• Facilitate the regulatory onboarding of GBM clients in an efficient, compliant, and client-centric manner
• Rapidly triage and escalate complex issues or variances from bank procedures to management and internal control teams for resolution
• Ensure that documentation meets the guidance put in place by Global Banking and Markets, and archived according to Bank and regulatory requirements
• Work directly with clients to complete requisite Know Your Client (KYC) and Anti-money Laundering (AML) documentation
• Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge
• Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
• Prepare onboarding status reports for executive management
• Stay informed of changes in requisite regulatory onboarding matters including but not limited to: KYC, AML regulations, Tax Regulations such as FATCA and CRS, OTC Trade Reporting such as Dodd Frank, EMIR, Canadian and Hong Kong Trade Reporting

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Associate role will bring a wealth of industry experience in capital markets, corporate banking, or investment banking. You will have a strong academic background in Finance, Business, Economics, Law or a related discipline. Your expertise in current regulatory frameworks impacting Capital Markets client onboarding will be invaluable in this role. Your detail-oriented nature and excellent problem-solving skills will enable you to detect and resolve issues efficiently. Your exceptional communication and relationship management skills will help you succeed in this role. A sound understanding of the capital markets/corporate banking business is also essential.

• 5 - 7 years direct industry experience in capital markets, corporate banking, or investment banking in wholesale banking
• An undergraduate degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Law or a related discipline
• Expertise with current regulatory frameworks impacting Capital Markets client onboarding
• Detail-oriented with sufficient judgment to detect, solve, or escalate problems efficiently and effectively
• Excellent oral/written communication, relationship management, and time management skills
• A sound understanding of the capital markets/corporate banking business
• Ability to operate effectively within an exceptionally stressful environment with changing priorities and tight time frames
• Must have Excel experience and should be comfortable to work with VLOOKUP's and data sorting and filtering
