[What the role is]
The Assistant Manager / Manager (Performing Arts – Theatre) supports the development and growth of Singapore's Theatre sector within the broader Performing Arts ecosystem. This role involves implementing strategic initiatives aimed at audience development and ecosystem sustainability, administering grant programmes, and facilitating stakeholder engagement to strengthen the local Theatre sector.[What you will be working on]
Support implementation of Theatre sector development initiatives under the strategies identified in Our SG Arts Plan
Research and analyse sector trends, challenges and opportunities to support strategic planning
Support the assessment, monitoring and review of project proposals throughout the project lifecycle
Prepare briefing materials, presentations and reports to support decision
Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders during project implementation
Support stakeholder engagement across planning and implementation phases
Build and maintain professional relationships with artists, arts groups and sector stakeholders
Monitor sector developments through attendance at performances, events, networking sessions and media channels
Gather stakeholder feedback on policies, programmes and emerging sector issues
Administer grant programmes across various funding schemes in
a timely and accurate manner
Process grant applications and support assessment and evaluation of proposals
Maintain accurate records of funding activities and ensure timely updates
Engage applicants on application requirements and outcomes
Process claims and ensure timely disbursement of payments
Support team operations and contribute to overall team effectiveness
Deliver assigned tasks efficiently and to a high standard
Participate actively in team meetings, workplan planning and professional development
Contribute ideas for process improvement and innovation
Support colleagues and foster a positive team culture
[What we are looking for]
Some familiarity with the theatre sector is an advantage.
Basic understanding of funding schemes, grants, and support
structures, including their criteria, and processes.
Some experience or exposure in managing funding schemes, including adherence to SOPs, assessment processes, and compliance requirement is an advantage.
Some experience in supporting projects from conception to implementation, ensuring they meet stated outcomes and deadlines.
Ability to support research and identify trends, challenges, and pportunities within the arts sector.
Some proficiency in interpreting data to inform decision-making and improve sector development strategies.
Skills in building and maintaining positive relationships with artists, arts groups, and other stakeholders.
Ability to articulate rationale for decisions, manage expectations, and foster constructive dialogue across all levels.
Willingness to engage actively with the arts community through performances, events, and media to stay informed and connected.
