AUDIT SUPERVISOR / MANAGER

About the role

Join Smalley & Sims PAC' as an Audit Supervisor / Manager, based in the City Hall Central Region. In this full-time position, you will play a key role in our Accounting and Audit team, overseeing external audits and helping to ensure our clients receive exceptional service.

What you'll be doing

• Lead and manage audit engagements, ensuring they are completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards
• Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing training and guidance to develop their skills
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and proactively addressing any issues
• Review audit working papers and reports to confirm accuracy and completeness
• Identify opportunities to improve audit processes and procedures. 
• Identify and address audit risks and control weaknesses
• Plan, execute, and conclude audit assignments including prepare audit budget
• Ensure compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements
• Communicate identified risks and issues to clients, providing clear recommendations for resolution
• Work closely with clients to address and resolve issues, ensuring timely and satisfactory outcomes
• Prepare audit recommendations

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience in external auditing, preferably within a reputable accounting firm or similar organisation
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly
• Proven track record of successfully leading audit teams and projects
• Commitment to providing exceptional client service
• Relevant professional qualifications, such as CPA or ACCA, preferable
