AVP, Business Continuity Management Lead

StriveX is representing a leading financial institution seeking an experienced Regional Business Continuity Management (BCM) professional to lead Operational Resilience strategy across Asia & Oceania. This is a senior, regional role with responsibility for framework design, regulatory alignment, governance, and crisis management oversight across multiple entities.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Define and maintain regional Operational Resilience principles and a BCM framework aligned with Group requirements and regulatory expectations across Asia Pacific.
2. Ensure proportionate and consistent BCM implementation across entities with varied business models, sizes, and regulatory profiles.
3. Interpret and translate regulatory expectations (MAS, SFC, and other regional regulators) into practical policies, and act as the regional SME for regulatory engagements and audits.
4. Design and maintain regional governance structures, including committees, escalation protocols, and reporting standards, with clear accountabilities between regional oversight and local execution.
5. Set region-wide standards for Business Impact Assessments (BIA), Business Continuity Plans (BCP), and Crisis Management protocols, and oversee local entities in their development and maintenance.
6. Design and deliver an annual regional testing and exercise programme covering BCP invocation, crisis management, and technology/operational disruptions.
7. Review and challenge test outcomes, ensuring gaps are documented, remediated, and signed off by management.
8. Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and cross-functional stakeholders (Operations, Risk, Compliance, IT, HR), promoting a strong Operational Resilience culture and providing training and guidance to local BCM coordinators.

Key Requirements

1. Degree holder in any discipline.
2. Minimum 10 years of experience in Business Continuity Management or Operational Resilience within the financial services industry.
3. Strong knowledge of MAS and SFC BCM expectations; experience across other Asia Pacific jurisdictions is an advantage.
4. Hands-on experience in designing and implementing BCM frameworks, crisis management protocols, and testing/exercise programmes.
5. Proven experience operating independently in a regional role, with the ability to balance Group standards and local regulatory nuances.
6. Demonstrated track record in regulatory and internal audit engagements.
7. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
8. Structured, methodical, and detail-oriented approach, capable of translating complex requirements into clear, actionable plans.
