Job Description - AVP, LC Advising Team Lead, Trade Operations, IBG Operations (IBGO), Group COO

Business Function

Lead, manage and control the operation of the team to ensure delivery of efficient and good quality products and services at cost effective prices to internal and external customers, without any compromise to risk control.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the Trade Finance LC Advising team handling resource management, training and daily BAU challenges, if any.
Authorising and/or checking of Trade Finance Letter of Credit (LC) Advising / Confirmation transactions
Review swift and mail LC for authenticity and LC workability issue.
Identify discrepancies, highlight irregularities and red flag items during processing / authorising
Monitor and perform controls on investigation, identifying and making right decisions to resolve operational issues and ensure timely escalation.
Ensure SOPs and existing / new controls are in place and adhere to by operating teams.

Requirements

Degree or related Diploma with CDCS Qualified, would be an advantage.
Minimum 5 years of relevant Trade Finance Processing relevant experience, and strong understanding of UCP rules, ISP 98 rules, Anti-Money Laundering Guidelines, and Terrorist Financing and Sanction Regulations.
Hard-working, self-motivated and a strong team player.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Meticulous and detailed oriented.
Capable to work effectively under pressure and tight deadline.
Familiar with MS Office applications, such as Outlook, Excel, Words.
Ability to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
In depth knowledge in Trade Finance Products / Processes, rules, practices and regulations
Strong understanding of risk and controls
