Job Description - AVP / VP, Energy Renewables & Infrastructure, Institutional Banking Group

Business Function
  • Corporate and Investment Banking provides corporate customers with a full range of commercial banking products and services, including cash management services, current accounts, time deposits, trade finance, working capital finance, term loans, and project finance. Through our continued commitment, DBS has cultivated long-standing relationships with its customers in the region that are based on account relationship management, service differentiation, product development, and rigorous credit standards.
  • Given that DBS has an expansive network of corporate clients in Asia, we connect and advise large businesses, mid-cap enterprises, financial sponsors, and sovereign wealth funds in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, divestments, capital structure optimization, and restructurings, as they pursue their growth plans and business objectives, particularly within the Energy, Renewables & Infrastructure sectors (ERI).
Responsibilities
  • Identifying, originating, and developing high-value M&A deal leads to secure advisory roles for DBS within the Energy, Renewables & Infrastructure sectors (ERI).
  • Assist the Executive Directors and Managing Directors of ERI in the origination of investment banking and advisory mandates, including but not limited to industry research and marketing pitch preparation, financial and valuation analysis, deep-dive review of strategic accounts, etc.
  • Driving analysis of energy/renewables/infrastructure asset and/or asset portfolio performance, identifying, and implementing key strategic benchmarks for optimization, value creation, and risk mitigation across the portfolio, in the context of M&A.
  • Proactively identifying potential sellers, buyers, and institutional investors through market analysis, and a deep understanding of evolving market dynamics within the ERI M&A landscape.
  • Leading and overseeing the development of complex financial models to value debt and equity for strategic M&A, and capital raising transactions within the ERI sectors.
  • Directing the preparation, review, and presentation of high-impact transaction materials, including comprehensive investment memoranda, compelling management presentations, and advanced pitchbooks for C-suite and board-level audiences, specifically tailored for M&A deals in ERI.
  • Orchestrating and guiding thorough due diligence processes, research, in-depth analysis, and meticulous documentation for intricate live M&A transactions within the ERI sectors, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Leading the execution, management, and advisory on high-value potential M&A transactions, encompassing inter alia, meticulous deal evaluation, advanced feasibility studies, innovative deal structuring, and effective negotiation strategies within ERI.
Requirements
  • At least 10 years' relevant experience in Corporate Finance advisory and M&A and/or as an industry banker. Experience in the Energy, Renewables and Infrastructure sector and/or relevant experience is considered an added advantage.
  • Self-motivated individual with a proven track record in driving M&A ideation and originating new M&A opportunities.
  • Demonstrates a strong grasp of financing, and capital market solutions for large corporates, preferably in the ERI sector.
  • Articulate and confident in public presentations and client pitches.
  • Familiar with complex financial models and high-quality pitches.
  • Understanding of Energy Transition and Sustainable Finance would be an advantage.
  • Highly resourceful individual who should also be a team player
