AVP/VP - TB Operations Excellence - Business Analyst - Global Transaction Product Department - SMBC

Key Responsibilities

• Support End-to-End Process Ownership & Analysis in areas such as Transaction Banking, Cash and Liquidity Management, Treasury and Trade Finance.

• Lead the design of customer-centric TB journeys with a focus on cycle time reduction, straight-through processing, and service quality.

• Partner with Product and Operations teams to align process, policy, and technology changes.

• Own and drive analysis of front-to-back Transaction Banking processes, including client onboarding, servicing, fulfillment, and operational execution.

• Define target-state process designs and operating model improvements aligned with TB strategy and growth ambitions.

• Identify structural inefficiencies, duplication, manual touchpoints, and control weaknesses, and drive improvement initiatives through data-driven insights.

• Support the definition of capability maturity benchmarks across our core markets.

• Monitor post-implementation performance to ensure benefits realisation and sustainability .

Who we are looking for

• 7-10+ years of working experience in Transaction Banking, Operations, Consulting, or Transformation roles.

• Proven experience in process re-engineering, operating model optimisation, or large-scale transformation initiatives.

• Familiarity with transaction banking products (Cash, Trade Finance, Treasury, Liquidity Management) is a plus.

• Highly analytical, structured, and outcome-driven.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including at senior management level.

• Strong technology literacy with the ability to challenge solution design and delivery complexity.

• Solid working knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies, particularly Scrum.

• Pragmatic, resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to operate independently
