Role Summary

The Head of Commercial Solutions, APAC is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping how BBC Studios brings its commercial portfolio to market across the region. Leading Integrated Solutions, StoryWorks Content Studio, Audience Data and Insights, this role sits at the centre of the commercial organization, connecting client needs, audience intelligence, storytelling and commercial strategy to drive growth.

As a key member of the APAC Commercial Leadership Team and strategic partner to the SVP Ad Sales, the role is responsible for crafting market-leading solutions, strengthening cross-functional collaboration and building scalable operating models that accelerate commercial performance.

Purpose of the Role

The Head of Commercial Solutions leads the development and execution of BBC Studios' commercial solutions strategy across APAC, driving revenue growth, proposition development and client value creation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Defining and leading commercial go-to-market strategies across the BBC Studios portfolio.


• Developing integrated, data-led solutions that address client business challenges.


• Leading StoryWorks, Branded Content and Production to deliver best-in-class content partnerships and storytelling solutions.


• Embedding audience insights and market intelligence into commercial decision-making.


• Driving collaboration across Sales, Editorial features, Brand IP team, Product, Research, Marketing and Ad Operations teams.


• Implementing operating models, governance frameworks and best practices.


• Leading innovation, transformation and commercial capability development.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

Commercial GTM Strategy

• Define and lead APAC 360 degree go-to-market strategy across advertising, branded content, sponsorship and partnership opportunities.


• Identify new growth opportunities, revenue streams and market expansion opportunities.


• Shape portfolio positioning, perception, messaging and value propositions.


• Translate audience, category and market trends into commercial growth strategies.


• Drive innovation in commercial products, storytelling and partnership models.

Integrated Solutions Leadership

• Lead the development of insight-led integrated solutions for clients and agencies.


• Create proposals that combine media, content, storytelling, partnerships and audience capabilities.


• Oversee strategic responses to major commercial opportunities and key accounts.


• Develop best-practice frameworks for solution design, proposal development and commercial storytelling.


• Improve commercial effectiveness, win rates and client outcomes.

StoryWorks, Branded Content & Production

• Lead BBC StoryWorks, Branded Content and Production functions across APAC.


• Develop strategic content-led partnership opportunities that drive revenue growth.


• Ensure high-quality execution across all branded content and production initiatives.


• Foster creative excellence while maintaining BBC values and editorial standards.


• Establish scalable production workflows, governance frameworks and delivery processes.


• Drive innovation in storytelling, content formats and audience engagement.

Audience Insights & Market Intelligence

• Lead the integration of audience insights into commercial strategy and solution development.


• Develop and disseminate thought leadership, research initiatives and market intelligence programs.


• Monitor industry trends, competitive activity and evolving client needs.


• Ensure data and insights inform proposition development, investment decisions and GTM priorities.


• Embed a culture of evidence-based decision-making across the commercial organization.

Internal Stakeholder Management & Portfolio Integration

• Act as the central connector across Sales, StoryWorks, Editorial, Product, Research, Marketing, Ad Operations and various Global teams.


• Align stakeholders around commercial priorities, growth opportunities and strategic initiatives.


• Identify opportunities to leverage the full BBC Studios portfolio within client solutions.


• Create effective cross-functional engagement models, planning processes and ways of working.


• Champion integrated thinking and customer-centric collaboration across the organization.

SOPs, Governance & Process Optimization

• Develop SOPs, workflows, playbooks and governance frameworks that improve efficiency and consistency.


• Standardize commercial processes and establish scalable best practices.


• Improve briefing, planning, production and delivery workflows.


• Drive adoption of AI, automation and new technologies to improve productivity and effectiveness.


• Establish KPIs, performance reporting and continuous improvement programs.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Significant leadership experience in integrated marketing, commercial strategy, go-to-market planning, media sales, sales planning or a related commercial function.


• Demonstrated success developing and executing revenue-driving go-to-market strategies in a media, advertising or content environment.


• Deep understanding of digital, video, streaming, audio, social and cross-platform advertising ecosystems


• Strong commercial acumen with experience supporting advertising sales organisations and revenue growth initiatives.


• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders in a matrixed environment.


• Strong strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to convert insights into actionable business outcomes.


• Exceptional ability to craft strategic narratives that connect audience insights, market trends, portfolio strengths and client objectives into compelling commercial stories that influence decision-making, differentiate BBC Studios in the marketplace and drive revenue growth.


• Experience developing commercial operating models, SOPs, governance frameworks and business process improvement initiatives.


• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

• Experience in global media, broadcasting, publishing, advertising or agency.


• Experience leading regional teams across APAC markets.


• Strong understanding of audience measurement, effectiveness research and market intelligence.
