Job Description - Boutique Manager (Sales)

Alongside our retail and eCommerce presence, Oevaali Art Shop collaborates with over 90 leading hoteliers, resorts, corporations, and government entities in the Maldives, providing boutique support, corporate gifting, bespoke design solutions, and merchandise. This job requires Singapore Citizenship or Permanent Residence.  

Job Scope

Overall Responsibilities

  • Oversee retail and online store operations in Singapore.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Plan and manage all aspects of boutique operations, including inventory control, expense control, loss control, sales maximization, manpower management, planning, and visual aesthetics.

Customer Service & Sales

  • Provide exceptional in-store customer service and process sales transactions.
  • Ensure accuracy of all customer transactions.
  • Create a great customer experience and maintain store ambience.
  • Fulfill online orders and liaise with couriers (local and international orders).
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints via email, social media, and phone, ensuring effective resolution.
  • Monitor and provide effective resolutions to customer complaints.

Sales Strategies & Performance

  • Administer and optimize sales strategies to maximize store profitability.
  • Achieve boutique sales targets and drive the team to achieve individual sales targets.
  • Analyze sales reports and develop action plans for improvement.
  • Proactively contribute suggestions for in-store activations and sales strategies to drive traffic and sales.
  • Increase market awareness and provide feedback to management on recent market trends.

Team Management

  • Schedule and manage shifts, ensuring adequate manpower.
  • Lead and develop a team of customer-oriented, highly motivated, and dynamic employees.
  • Conduct regular performance check-ins with the team.
  • Coach and mentor employees to improve product and sales knowledge.
  • Ensure in-store training on product and brand knowledge is conducted in a timely manner.
  • Act as a bridge between management and team members, ensuring accurate and timely information relay.

Financial & Inventory Management

  • Manage and account for all money-handling procedures.
  • Record and manage inventory and stock counts.
  • Maintain end-of-day register and cash settlement.

Store Maintenance

  • Maintain shop displays and ensure store cleanliness.
  • Initiate and oversee maintenance, contractor, and repair works as needed.

Other Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage visual aesthetics of the store.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.

 

Requirements & Qualifications

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team.
  • Strong understanding of team dynamics and the ability to manage and motivate employees effectively.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills:

  • Confident and articulate, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written)

Sales & Customer Focus:

  • Sales-driven and self-motivated with a strong customer focus.
  • Strong decision-making skills and ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints effectively.
  • Growth-oriented with the ability to drive sales performance and achieve targets.

Professional Skills:

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • An eye for detail and aesthetics to maintain store displays and visual appeal.
  • Owner's mindset and a self-starter attitude, capable of taking initiative and managing store operations independently.

Educational Background:

  • Diploma or higher in a relevant field.
  • Strong experience in retail management with a proven track record of success.
